What is Yellow Ribbon benefits?
The Yellow Ribbon program agreement permits KU and the VA to provide matching funds to cover all or a portion of the outstanding amount of established charges not covered under the Post-9/11 GI Bill for Non-Pennsylvania residents who are eligible at the 100% rate. The program covers both undergraduate and graduate students in all matriculating majors.
Students who are classified as Pennsylvania residents, would remain eligible for education benefits through the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other military education benefits, at the appropriate rates, if they qualify.
Kutztown University has been a leader in assisting service men, women and their family members to return to school. KU opened a new Veterans Services Center in September and was named a 2014 Military Friendly School by Victory Media and Military Advanced Education. The university had approximately 155 military-affiliated students enrolled in the 2013-2014 school year.
